Especially designed for kids who are learning outside of school! Hands on, often outdoors, fun and enriching. Choose from a range of interests and times.
Parent Ed
Part guided workshop, part sharing session, one hundred percent supportive! Parent, professional educator, and former teacher, Lynette Wiebe, can help you see the big picture, and understand little steps along the way.
Tutoring
You’ve got this… but you wouldn’t mind some support with the hard stuff. If you are looking for a tutor with years of experience in early literacy and math, Rising Hill Learning has the space and resources take the stress away.

Farm Club
Start your child’s day in nature! Being outside helps kids exercise their bodies and get ready for the day. Farm Club exposes kids to the plants and animals that provide us food, caring for and feeding ducks, goats and more!
Farm Club meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00-10:00.

Hike Club
Start your child’s day in nature! Hike Club takes kids into the stunning canyons and crest views in the foothills of Altadena.
Hike Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-10:00
Open to kids 5-7

Thursday Bundle: September 11, 18, 26, October 2; $80
For safety, children should wear supportive, closed toe shoes with sturdy grip (NO CROCS!) and bring water and a snack. Hands-free water (like a Camelback or other brand) is highly recommended.

Story Club
A great foundation to literacy is hearing—and retelling—great stories. Story Club is a multi-sensory club where kids will hear, explore and recreate stories with universal themes, from fairy tales to mythology. (Note: children do not need to be”readers” yet to enjoy this club!)
Story Club meets M-Th from 10:00-11:30. Each week focuses on a new story.
Open to kids ages 4-7, limit of 8 children

Wonder Club
Kids wonder about animals, and wondering can lead to so much more! In Wonder Club kids will about animals, their biome, ecosystem, and the climate of that place. Ultimately they will learn about the traditional and contemporary people who call each place home.
Wonder Club meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for two weeks, from 12:00-1:30. each month features a different place in the world.
Open to kids ages 5-8, limit of 8 children

Ready to Read
Ready to read? What is reading? Learn about the building blocks of the written word. You will get ideas for scope, sequence and technique, as well as suggestions for resources and materials to feel prepared and successful. You will also get tips for spotting individual children’s differences and needs so your can differentiate instruction to use your child’s strengths. All materials provided.

Down the Path
Is your child up and reading? How can you connect their skills in reading and writing for well-rounded literacy? In addition to strategies for phonics, you will get strategies for next steps in fluency, accuracy, and comprehension, as well as how to build better writers. Whether your child is struggling or precocious with reading, this workshop will help you keep reading meaningful and joyful.
