What parents have to say about Camp at Rising Hill
What does a day look like?
Vacations should be about gentle mornings, so drop off happens between 8:30 and 9:00. (Early birds can help with the farm animal morning routine.)
9:30 the group leaves for a canyon hike, depending on weather safety. Kids love splashing, so a change of clothes is recommended. Snacks happen on the hike.
Around 11:30 we eat lunch back at base camp. Pickup for MORNING ONLY campers is at 11:30. FULL DAY Campers eat lunch, free play, and hang out while everyone finishes up.
Afternoons are all about indoor activities like crafting and baking. There is always loads of room for camper choice, plus visiting the farm animals and see what food is growing in the garden.
Pick-up is at 3:30.
Summer Camp 2026

Week 2, June 22-26
Ages 5-8 This is a week to learn about royalty from different places around the world and times in history. We’ll discover the rights and responsibilities of rulers (and whether they were good or bad rulers for their people) and enjoy some royal crafting.
Week 3, June 29-July3 ENROLLMENT CLOSED
Ages 5-8 We’ll explore all sorts of little creepy crawlers, including insects, worms and spiders. Nothing to be scared of here!
Week 4, July 6-10
Ages 5-8 We know so much about land animals but there’s lots to discover about the magnificent and sometimes wacky animals that live in the oceans. Each day will feature a story about a marine creature to craft about.
Week 5, July 13-17
Ages 7-10 Ancient Greek and Roman people had a mythology with a huge family of gods, goddesses and demi-gods that continue to influence the stories and ideas we have today. This week exposes campers to some of these stories in a kid-friendly way.
Week 6, July 20-24
Ages 7-10 Miniaturing is so fun, and kids can make things to play with at home. Whether favorite toys are 1:4 (for example American Girl dolls), 1:6 (like Barbies) or 1:12 (like Calico Critters) we can make our own toys and accessories with a little knowhow and ingenuity. (Upon confirmation of enrollment make sure you are ready to share your camper’s preferred toy size.)
Week 7, July 27-31
Ages 5-8 If you think this week should be about baking and eating cookies, you are correct! Each day we’ll do a different recipe. (Upon confirmation of enrollment make sure you are ready to share any allergies or dietary restrictions.)
Week 8, August 3-7
Ages 5-8 Jungles around the world are home to creatures with some really unusual features and behaviors. We’ll explore and craft about a different animal each day.
Week 9, August 10-14
Ages 5-8 Does your kid like getting into things? Maybe sometimes things that you’d rather they not mess with? During this sensory rich week kids will be allowed to mess with bags of flour, buckets of shaving cream, mud and more!
